About Me

The Teacher

My name is Renae Deckard, but I’m also known as Mama, Mommy, Mother, and, occasionally, “What did you say?”

Living life as a homeschool mom in East Texas of three challenges me to be creative, patient, and disciplined. My days are consumed making a peaceful and nourishing home for my family.

I desire to renew my mind according to biblical principles. This will be my life long pursuit. Truth is my passion.

When my children are grown, I intend to go back to school to officially become a teacher, so I can inspire more generations to live in liberty. I will also finish at least half of the scrapbooks and sewing projects I’ve started.

The Students

Sweet Pea

My sweet three-year-old, known for her love of a hot pink cuddly and polka dots.

Sunshine

Four-year-old, soon to be five, spunky girl who rises with the sun.

Bug

The first-born son who is almost eleven-years-old. He lives in the land of Lego and wants to be a scientist when he grows up.

Welcome

Some of you may never visit me in Texas, but I want to show you around my home on the internet. Please sit down, and relax the best you can between the occasional accidents and emergencies only Mommy can fix. I’ll make you some tea and ignore the chores for while. I hope you enjoy the visit.

What is a blog anyway?

Blog is short for web log. It is a kind of internet diary, but blogs are not limited to personal journals. There are blogs on all varieties of subjects; politics, photography, scrapbooking, cooking, or shopping. Life Nurturing Education focuses on homeschooling and all that it entails.

How do I leave comments?

One of my favorite parts of blogging is hearing from my readers, so please join the discussion. At the bottom of each post there is a link that says Comments. Click on the link, scroll to the bottom, fill in the blanks, and submit your reply.

I enjoy the conversation, so I usually respond in my comment box and sometimes even send an email (when I remember and have time). If you leave me a link to your blog, I will consider that a personal invitation to come for a visit.

How will I know when you’ve posted something new?

The option to Subscribe is one of the first things listed. Choose whether you would like to receive updates by email or in a reader. Simply follow the instructions from there.

Do you have any questions?
