FREE Gift: Lent Activities for the Family
Normally, links will only be posted on the weekend, but this item is applicable now. Miiko Gibson compiled a list of family activities for Lent as a gift to you.
The tradition of Lent is not practiced in my church, but I need to examine my heart and meditate on the sacrifice of Christ, too. Miiko makes the point,
Even if our church observes Palm Sunday, the next time the church meets is Easter Sunday. Good Friday is almost glossed over if the family doesn’t make an effort to think about it.
The activities in this small book are short and meaningful. One activity per day is easily implemented, and a sample calendar is available.
Please visit Our Grace Journey to receive this gift. (Be sure to scroll down just a bit.)
And now I’m curious, does your family participate in Lent? How do you remember the days leading up to Easter/Resurrection Day?

Thanks for the comments. It’s nice to get feedback.
Thanks for the link! I’ve never really thought about doing anything for Lent. My husband grew up in a litergical church and now tends to run from anything that seems to stem from there. We’re all learning how to not throw out the good things and how to adapt them to be something God-honoring and meaningful. I think the kids will enjoy the Lenten tree.
Thanks!
Amy
This is such an interesting idea! Thanks for the link to the book!
Thank you for the resource. We typically do not observe Lent but this may be a good resource to do “something” during that time to prepare our hearts for Resurrection Sunday.
I posted about this too and linked to you. Thank you for the resource!
I’m glad this is helpful! We are coupling these activities with Passion Hymns for a Kid’s Heart. It came together so well for our Bible lesson this morning.
May the Lord bless you as you remember his last days on earth.
Hi Renae,
Thanks for visiting and leaving such a nice comment!
We hope you will stop by again soon :)
Although our church does not observe Lent either, there are many at work who do. It is interesting to hear individual’s motivations for celebrating it. As for me and my family, we will be taking time to think about the last weeks of Christ’s life and what it means to us now. -Rachelle
Thanks for sharing this resource, Renae. We’ve never focused on Lent in our family and our church, but I think this will be a fitting way to reflect on what Jesus did for us.
Blessings,
Shannon
Thanks for the link! We haven’t really followed Lent as a family but we’re going to do these activities this year. Have a wonderful week!
