Imagination Alive

Bug pleaded for train ride instead of a party for his birthday. The months of waiting faded away while his imagination raced along the tracks.

I have been thinking quite a bit that we should take an Amtrak trip sometime. It wouldn’t be a cheap activity for us as a family of five, but I think the kids would LOVE it!

Great alternative to a birthday party. Making memories is what it is all about.

    Angie,
We all wanted to go, but it was cost prohibitive. Bug went with just his dad. We heard enough about it to easily imagine being there though. :)

I love train rides. I would have been in heaven for that as a birthday celebration. He looked so happy!

I am remind of a quotation from Honda, “A dream is just a dream if we don’t realise it.”

How awesome! I remember when we took our boys on the Georgetown Loop in the mountains of Colorado. They love, love, love trains and they were just thrilled. What a great way to celebrate his birthday! :D

How awesome. My son used to be infatuated with trains for the longest time… but he got his fill of train field trips back when he was younger and now he’s too “big” for them. :( So sad that they have to grow up.

Renae, that’s precious. I think that memory will be with him ’til he’s 99 years old.

How sweet…interestingly enough, none of my boys were ever enamored w/ trains. I do have a car junkie though.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Just wondering, how did you find me?

    I like yours, I’ll be back. =)

Thank you all! Glad you enjoyed the photos.

Bug was so excited. He took 86.4 pictures of everything from the tracks to the water tower. :)

How cool! And what a great birthday present. Not too far from here is a little train that runs half an hour to a neighboring town, gives you an hour break for lunch and then drives back to the home station. We did that. And it just happened to be the day that PBS was there doing a special on trains. So the kids got videotaped for some series, but I never did find out when it aired. :(
