Their favorite part was the feedings. They watched a diver feed the fish in a big tank, and later the alligators chomped lots of raw chicken. My youngest couldn’t stop laughing and squealing with delight. So much for being scared of the beast. ;)
Emily,
Alligator. ;) And yeah, I wasn’t prepared for all the catfish.
I enjoyed the hike best. Along the trail there were animal prints in the concrete. That really helped the little girls to keep going. They would dance and scream, “We found footprints!”
Honestly, I was surprised at how nice it was, catfish and all. :)
ok, East Texas caught my eye. I used to live on Lake Palestine over near Bullard. Have you heard of Brookshire’s Recreation Park? We lived there. My stepdad was the caretaker for several years.
What a fabulous field trip!! My kids would have loved that. We were supposed to go hiking today to a local fish hatchery, but, alas, someone had an open head wound. :-)
It is an interesting and fun place for kids. Look at that smiley croc. hehe…
Looks like fun…great pics. Happy WW!
Looks like an amazing time.
I hope you didn’t get too close to that gator.
Happy Wordless!
That last one made me jump.
Too cute.
Great family pics – althought the croc looks manacing!
Come visit our contest to win a doll trunk. Happy WW
That’s a big alligator/croc! Was that their favorite part?

When you said ‘Fish Hatchery’….the Washington resident in me instinctively thought…..SALMON. Not crocs. :)

Carrie,
That is pretty close to where I live, but I haven’t heard of the park. I bet it was a great place to live.
Jennifer,
I’m sorry to hear about your daughter. Glad it wasn’t anything more serious.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this trip. I guess when you love learning, even catfish become interesting. ;)
