Melissa,
I look forward to reading your post! Honestly, I've never liked three ring binders much. They are so utilitarian. I prefer journals, but binders are undeniably the best for organizing. They are simple, pragmatic, and inexpensive. Decorating the cover helps a little bit though.

Rain,
Binders work well to organize recipes, too. I may even make a blogging notebook.

Dana,
What a good idea to give your daughter her own organizer! Start her young! :)
Bug has a calendar that he likes to fill in his prayer journal, but we are sharing the lesson plans for now.

I hope your first day back goes well.

Hadias,
Thank you. I decided to use my scrapbook supplies to make a cover. I didn't spend much time on it, but I'm learning that good enough is good enough. It has some color and I've always like Jessie Wilcox's Smith's art.

The idea to separate my son's assignments is the best thing I implemented. If I hadn't done anything else, that would have been enough.

I'm so glad your school is going well. Good days are such a blessing, because the bad days put them in perspective. :)

Binders may very well be the greatest thing since sliced bread! I'm glad yours is working. What a victory! Now you've got me wanting to post about mine! I discovered them a year or so ago. They aren't near as beautiful as yours though! Have a great day:)
Blessings,
Melissa

The design of your planner is beautiful. I am so glad that it is working for you. The idea to seperate your son's work into assignements that he does independently and assignments you both work on together was a winning idea.

We started class on Friday and the children were really excited and got everything completed quickly to my surprise. It's as if they devoured their assignments willingly and with enthusiasm. It was great.
