My Son Is a Published Author!
Backyard Birding posted my son’s instructions for building a bottle bird feeder. His idea works well, and uses simple supplies. The hardest part is coming up with a bottle. We don’t usually buy cola, so we waited quite awhile for our second creation.

If you use these instructions, please share the results with us. It will encourage my young inventor to continue writing.
Speaking of writing, Kris used the alphabet to put together this week’s Carnival of Homeschooling. What a primer it is!

CONGRATULATIONS to your son
He did a very nice job with it and his instructions were very clear.
Two thumbs up!
Jen,
Thanks. Now he wants to start his own blog. I told him that he has to learn to type first. :)
Dana,
Thanks so much for publishing it! Bug is thrilled.
Very cool. Congratulations to him.
Oh, that is so cool! We’ll have to give that project a go.
Good job, Bug!! 8-)
I better not tell him that blogging is a great way to learn how to type then. :D
Learning Umbrella and Robin,
Thank you for your kind words. I will share them with my son.
Andrea,
You have a point. I thought the goal might help his motivation, but blogging would be good typing practice. His grandma would enjoy reading of his daily adventures.
Isn’t nine too young to begin all this computer stuff? I’m not ready for my kids to grow up. :(
Congrats to your son!
I think as long as Mom is in control of ALL things blogging, it is an excellent idea.
Very cool – I don’t visit Dana’s birding blog that often, but funny enough, I visited I think yesterday and quickly browsed through that post, thinking it was Dana’s post, and saying to myself, how cool, we need to do this!
Is 9 too young? Well, Emma has a blog here and she’s not even 7. :D But we start our kids on the computer early here.
And they grow up anyway. :-/
Wow!! Very impressive. Congratulations Jacob!! What a great job you did.
Wow, this is cool! Belated congratulations, Jacob! Miiko
